GGC has been used as as a substrate for renal sulfhydryl oxidase (glutathione oxidase). GGC inhibits carboxypeptidase U (thrombin activatable fibrinolysis inhibitor, TAFI), though less efficiently than the dipeptide GC; Ki 0.99 μm.
