Z-LLE-βNA is a good substrate for neutral endopeptidase 24.5, a cation-sensitive enzyme with apparently multicatalytic activity. Z-LLE-βNA allows the determination of the peptidylglutamyl-peptide-hydrolyzing (PGPH) activity of the 20S proteasome.
