RGD (Arg-Gly-Asp) is a 3-amino acid linear peptide that is a cell adhesion sequence that mimics cell adhesion proteins and binds to integrins.The principle of RGD peptide targeting refers to the binding of three amino acid residues (Arg-Gly-Asp) in the sequence structure of RGD peptide to integrin receptors on the cell surface to achieve targeted therapy of tumor cells.Among the many ligands, the RGD motif has been found to recognize integrins, and as a result, synthetic peptides containing arginine-glycine-aspartate (RGD) have been widely used as inhibitors of integrin-ligand interactions in various studies of cell adhesion, migration, growth, and differentiation.
