Rabies Virus Glycoprotein is a 29-amino-acid cell penetrating peptide derived from a rabies virus glycoprotein that can cross the blood-brain barrier (BBB) and enter brain cells.It is a 29 amino acid fragment peptide extracted from rabies virus glycoprotein (RVG). Since neurotropic viruses infect brain cells across the blood-brain barrier, the same strategy may be used to enter the central nervous system and deliver siRNA to the brain. It binds specifically to the acetylcholine receptor expressed by neuronal cells.
